Even the vanilla version of Sleeping Dogs looked great! Yet Skryim SE still pales in comparison to other remastered games. That’s not too shabby for console players that haven’t had the opportunity to play Skyrim. And the game, apparently, looks fantastic on the PS4. Skyrim SE is free to PC players if they have all the expansions (I do). Also, all screenshots in this post are from my modded version of Skryim…)Īs a PC gamer, how did it feel to get Skyrim SE? I think I have the perfect image to sum it up: Hint: I’m the guy on the right… Screenshots are being taken and side by side comparisons will be made. And from an audio perspective, the modded version is better by far. My current install of Skryim is enhanced with a handful of mods that bring the two version of the game within spitting distance.
Audio that is remarkably worse than what was available in the original game.Īs a PC player, it’s impossible to compare the Skyrim Special Edition to the original game. This doesn’t even take into account the compressed audio in the new edition. Character models were left alone, so the NPCs running around in the shiny new world wound up looking out of place. Why? Because Bethesda touched up the world graphics, but nothing else. And, even then, things wound up looking uneven. While there are improvements to the graphics, they aren’t grand enough to be noticeable after a few minutes of play. So, naturally, this would be an extension of that.Īs it turns out, the Skyrim Special Edition is a disappointment. After all, the Hi Res Texture Pack did wonders for the game. The thought of diving back into a Skryim that looked better than ever was exhilarating. But when Bethesda announced a new edition of the game, I was excited. Even without a special edition, I was planning to put a few more hours in (likely hundreds…). I have Skyrim on PC and, to date, have put 254 hours into the game. And, though I’m nobody special, I wanted to take a moment to add my 2 cents to the already million dollar pot.
